Following question was asked of Technical Service:

We have a customer that is working with several home builders on installing audio systems in homes they are constructing. I have some questions on your OHSH560 and XDM4600KIT systems.

What are the dimensions of each unit?

Is the XMD4600KIT rack mountable?

What is the max number of zones for the XDM4600KIT?

In daisy chaining the XMD4600KIT, are you expanding the numbers of sources as well or will the additional units be amplification only?

How many multiple stereo zones will the OHSH560 allow for?

ANSWERS:

Dimensions are in Width X Depth X Height: M&S XDM46CC Central Controller and the XDM46EH (Expansion Hub) – 17” X 12 1/4” X 3 ¾”; Open House H560 Music & Communications Distribution Center – 13” X 12 1/4” X 3 3/4”.

The XDM46CC is not Rack Mountable. It must have a shelf to sit on. There are shelves made by a company called Mid-Atlantic that can be mounted in a rack mount. It is probable that any company that makes rack mounts will also make shelves that could be installed in the rack mount.

The maximum number of zones that can be supported by the XDM4600KIT is 4 Zones. This can be expanded to 8 Zones by adding the XDM46EH Expansion Hub and 4 XD46K Keypads.

The XDM4600KIT may not be “Daisy Chained”. You can only expand the number of zones using the XDM46EH. The number of sources will remain at 6.

The Open House H560 will support up to 6 stereo speaker zones with one pair of speakers per zone.
